dc.description.abstract Background: Essential Tremor (ET) is the most frequent movement disorder and in particular, essential tremor is the most cause of postural tremor in humans. The definition and classification of essential tremor are still based on clinical phenomena, and none of a clinical features of essential tremor is entirely specific or sensitive for this condition (Gironell, 2011). Objective: In order to connect the patient with the doctor, the main objective of this project is developing an entire framework that implement a complete system cloud-­‐based for capture the tremor characteristics using the smartphone. Methods: We designed and developed a mobile app for iOS platform to collect tremor characteristics using the smartphone accelerometer, and send the data to cloud for storage and processing. Medical Staff can view all of data and evaluate the level and the type of the tremor. Results: We use a mathematical transformation of data to obtain the power spectrum peak. This is the most important data that the Neurologist specialist needs to evaluate the tremor. We compared the results obtained using iPhone and using the traditional method and the values are similar. However, we propose to realize a serious clinical test and modify the signal processing procedures in order to approximate both results. Conclusions: Our objective in this project is provide a complete framework to Patients and to Professionals to improve detection, treatment and facilitate the work between both. Tremor Clinic wants to become a complete framework for diagnosis. From the point of view of business, we have developed a Medical Solution and improve Mobile Health care. We provide with this work a complete set of tools that help the Scientific Community incorporate mobile health solutions in their work. Is a starting point to further research the reliability about smartphone features vs clinical equipment. ca_ES
