El PRP s’utilitza com a teràpia regenerativa perquè ajuda a millorar el procés de cicatrització de ferides cròniques de la pell a l’estimular l’angiogènesi, però hi ha alguns casos en els que no funciona. Per aquest motiu, es proposa establir un model d’angiogènesi in vitro – en una superfície coberta de gelatina en comptes de Matrigel – en el que poder testar el PRP de pacients amb ferides cròniques cutànies i verificar si funciona. Per fer-ho s’han realitzat assaigs d’angiogènesi amb la línia cel·lular HUVEC, on s’ha estimulat la formació d’estructures tubulars amb factors de creixement alliberats per plaquetes activades (WPr). S’ha observat que quan s’afegeix WPr al 75% en el medi, a les 4 h les cèl·lules s’han alineat i s’han organitzat en cercles formant una xarxa. És encara necessari optimitzar el model d’angiogènesi in vitro que hem posat a punt, però s’ha pogut comprovar que no cal tenir una cobertura de superfície en Matrigel per poder realitzar assaigs d’angiogènesi.^^^^

PRP is used as a regenerative therapy as it helps to improve the healing process of chronic skin wounds by stimulating the angiogenesis, although there are cases in which it does not work. For this reason, it is proposed to establish an angiogenesis model in vitro – on a surface covered with gelatine instead of Matrigel – in which the PRP of patients with chronic cutaneous wounds can be tested and to verify if it works. Angiogenesis assays have been performed using HUVEC cell line, in which the formation of tubule structures has been stimulated with the use of growth factors released by activated platelets (WPr). It has been seen that 4 h after adding 75% of WPr to the medium, the cells have been able to align and organise in circles forming a net. Even it is still necessary to optimize the angiogenesis model in vitro that we have stablished, it has been verified that it is not necessary to cover the culture surface with Matrigel in order to run an angiogenesis assay.^^^^
