The present study has as its main objective to analyse and identify what teacher talk
strategies are most used by teachers in order to build up learner’s knowledge. Besides,
different uses of teacher talk are analysed as well to determine the way the teacher
uses the language in terms of interaction with students. The data collection method
used in this research was voice recording. Five maths lessons in English were
recorded and afterwards analysed through a grid that included different strategies and
uses of teacher talk based on the literature review previously done. The participants of
the study were a homeroom teacher and her students from fourth grade from Danila
Kumar International School, located in Ljubljana (Slovenia). The major findings of this
research see to indicate that the teacher used a small number of strategies for
scaffolding content, three of them were the most repeated by the teacher in all the
lessons. Moreover, the teacher’s uses of teacher talk were mostly based on
communication features, adding to that a small presence of interruption and obstruction
features as well.^^^^

L’estudi que es mostra a continuació té com a principal objectiu analitzar i identificar
quines estratègies són les més utilitzades pels mestres per tal d’ajudar als alumnes a
construir el coneixement. A més, s’han analitzat els diferents usos del discurs del
mestre per entendre la manera que aquest interacciona amb els alumnes. Les dades
d’aquest estudi es van ser obtingudes a través de la gravació de cinc sessions de
matemàtiques en anglès i posteriorment analitzades a través d’una graella basada en
el marc teòric prèviament desenvolupat. Els participants en aquest estudi van ser una
mestra tutora i els seus alumnes de 4t de primària de l’escola Danila Kumar
International School, situada a Ljubljana (Eslovènia). Els resultats obtinguts en aquesta
investigació conclouen amb un petit nombre d’estratègies utilitzades per la mestra,
sent només tres les més repetides en gairebé totes les sessions. També, es conclou
que els usos del discurs de la mestra estan basats en la comunicació, encara destaca
una petita part d’interrupció i obstrucció envers la interacció amb els alumnes.^^^^
