El presente estudio responde a la motivación de analizar la estrategia de traducción de
una serie de ficción de éxito mundial, en lo que a su diversidad lingüística y cultural se
refiere. Para ello, será necesario entender las características de los textos
audiovisuales, y la necesidad de interacción entre todos los canales y códigos de
significación que lo componen, para lograr un sentido completo del mensaje. De la
misma manera, los profesionales de la traducción audiovisual deberán asumir el
sometimiento de sus decisiones lingüísticas a la imagen, en el proceso de creación de
un producto del que se requiere tres tipos de sincronía: el de contenido, el de
caracterización y el de articulación bucal. Así, determinaremos con qué técnicas de
extranjerización o domesticación de la traducción se han alcanzado los objetivos
básicos de una traducción audiovisual, que son la transmisión de un texto isocrónico,
creíble, unificado y dotado de una oralidad prefabricada.

The main aim of this essay is to analyse the translation strategy of a world-famous
fiction series, in terms of its linguistic and cultural diversity. First, it will be required to
understand the nature of the audiovisual text and the role of interaction between
channels and signifying codes that form it, as the only way to convey the whole
meaning of the message. Also, translators shall be aware that audiovisual features
motivate a constrained translation of the linguistic code, in a process meant to achieve
three types of synchronism: content synchronism, character synchronism and visual
synchronism. Thus, we will determine which foreignization or domestication techniques
have been used to meet the audiovisual goal of producing an isochronic, credible, and
unified text, built by means of a prefabricated orality.
