Traducció de textos jurídics de l’estat de Califòrnia: el testament i el conveni regulador de divorci

Abstract

En aquest Treball de Fi de Grau s’han escollit dos textos que conjuntament tenen una llargada d’entre 3.000 i 4.000 paraules i que corresponen a dos textos jurídics, un testament i un conveni regulador de divorci, tots dos redactats en anglès. S’ha procedit a la seva traducció al català i al seu posterior comentari traductològic, tot indicant les principals dificultats i problemes de traducció. Els dos textos utilitzen el llenguatge jurídic, un llenguatge d’especialitat emprat pels especialistes del món judicial per comunicar-se. Aquest llenguatge està vivint un procés de recuperació a Catalunya així com una modernització en general, per tal de convertir-se en un instrument més planer, clar i entenedor.

In this Final Degree Work we have chosen two texts which together have a length of about 3.000 and 4.000 words, which are two legal texts, a last will and a marital settlement agreement, both written in English. We have done their translation into Catalan and translational analysis, pointing out the main difficulties and problems of translation. Both texts use the legal language, a specialized language employed by the specialists of the court world to communicate. This language is undergoing a process of recuperation in Catalonia and modernization in general to become an easier, clearer and more understandable instrument.
