In a moment of new challenges that require major changes in the educational world and, starting from
the framework of a competency curriculum, this article reflects on the importance of giving a particularly
regulatory function and a character inclusive of evaluation, beyond the qualifying function that has been
traditionally given. It also points to the need for it to be shared, between teachers and students, as well
as between teachers. Likewise, it talks about importance that children are the main actors in this
assessment, so that it is a learning tool and allows them to continue learning autonomously in their
adult lives.
Finally, it shows a possible path for change in schools that want to improve their evaluation processes
towards a more competent logic, based on the improvement project carried out by the ZER Baix
Berguedà children's education team of teachers during the course 2018-2019.^^^^
