La construcció de la identitat de gènere i els elements que hi influeixen

Abstract

L’objectiu d’aquesta investigació és conèixer la construcció de la identitat de gènere dels infants i els elements que hi influeixen. Alhora, pretén obtenir informació sobre la vigència de rols i estereotips de gènere a l’escola. Amb la finalitat de donar una resposta a la preocupació inicial, s’ha realitzat un estudi de cas basat en l’observació. La investigació s’ha portat a terme amb infants de P-5 d’una escola de la comarca d’Osona. En primer lloc, s’han plantejat un seguit de plantilles d’observació per tal de poder conèixer els jocs, les interrelacions i les converses dels infants segons el seu sexe i, alhora, observar el paper de la mestra de l’aula i del claustre d’educació infantil, pel que fa al vocabulari i a les decisions preses respecte els espais i joguines. D’aquesta manera, s’han extret diferents resultats que donen resposta a les qüestions que s’havien plantejat al principi. Alguns dels resultats obtinguts posen en relleu la clara evidència de la reproducció de rols i estereotips de gènere a l’escola que s’ha estudiat i, alhora, la importància de la cultura i de l’elecció de materials de joc per part del centre educatiu.

The main objective of this research is to learn about the construction of genre identity in children and the elements that have an influence on it. It is also aimed to find out about the current existence of genre roles and stereotypes in schools. In order to give an answer to the first concern, a case study based on observation has been carried out. Such research has been brought about with a group of P-5 children from a school in Osona. Some observation samples have been suggested with the objective to, on the one hand, know the games, the interrelations and the conversations between children according to their sex and, on the other hand, observe the role of the class teacher and the infant education teachers staff regarding the decisions made concerning vocabulary, spaces and toys. The research has drawn meaningful results that give an answer to the questions raised at the beginning. They emphasize a clear evidence on the presence of genre roles and stereotypes in the analysed school. At the same time, they highlight the great importance of the culture and the election of game materials carried out by the school.
