Eficacia del tratamiento mediante realidad virtual o terapia espejo para mejorar la funcionalidad del mano torpe secundaria al Ictus isquémico

Abstract

Introducción: En los últimos años, hemos visto un aumento en el número de ictus en todo el mundo. Una gran proporción de pacientes que han sufrido de un ictus tienen síntomas asociados a la pérdida de funcionalidad y de fuerza de la mano. Hoy sabemos, existe diferentes tipos de tratamientos que funcionan por este tipo de síntoma, como la terapia espejo por ejemplo. Además, el mundo ha observado la aparición de la realidad virtual en el tratamiento de muchas patologías, pero aún no hay evidencia científica real sobre los beneficios de la realidad virtual en la funcionalidad de la mano después un accidente cerebrovascular isquémico. Objetivo: El principio objetivó del estudio será ver si la terapia mediante la realidad virtual es más efectiva que la terapia en espejo en cuenta mejora la funcionalidad de la mano torpe secundaria al ictus isquémico. Metodología: Se aplicará un ensayo clínico controlado aleatorio a 84 pacientes, se dividirán en dos grupos iguales. Un grupo control seguirá el tratamiento convencional más la terapia espejo y un grupo experimental seguirá el tratamiento convencional más la terapia de realidad virtual. En este estudio se incluirán pacientes ingresados por ictus isquémico con una edad igual o superior a 18 años, que tienen una disminución de la funcionalidad, hipotonía de la mano y un bueno control del tronco. Los resultados del estudio serán analizados por SPSS que comparará los dos grupos a traes datos de escala de ARAT, MRC y Barthel. Aplicabilidad: Este estudio proporcionará nuevos resultados en cuenta de la realidad virtual dentro un tratamiento de fisioterapia para mejorar la funcionalidad de la mano torpe por un paciente que ha tenido un ictus isquémico y mostrará si es beneficioso invertir en las nuevas tecnologías.

Background: In recent years, we have seen an increase in the number of strokes worldwide. A large proportion of patients who have suffered a stroke have symptoms associated with loss of functionality and hand strength. Today we know that there are different types of treatment that works for this type of symptom, such as mirror therapy Furthermore, the world has observed the appearance of virtual reality in the treatment of many pathologies, but today there is no real scientific evidence on the benefit of virtual reality in the functionality of the hand after an ischemic stroke. Objective: The objective of the study will be to see if virtual reality therapy is more effective than mirror therapy in terms of improving the functionality of the clumsy hand secondary to ischemic stroke. Methodology: A randomized controlled clinical trial will be applied to 84 patients who have been divided into two equal groups. A control group will follow conventional treatment more mirror therapy and an experimental group will follow conventional treatment more virtual reality therapy. This study will include patients admitted for ischemic stroke who are 18 years of age or more, who have decreased functionality, hypotonia of the hand and good trunk control. The results of the study will be analysed by SPSS, which will compare the two groups using scale data from ARAT, MRC and Barthel. Applicability: This study will provide new results in virtual reality in a physiotherapy treatment to improve the functionality of the clumsy hand for a patient who has had an ischemic stroke and will show if it is beneficial to invest in new technology.
