How is storytelling used and how influences the learning of English in early childhood education?

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to study if storytelling is a useful tool for learning English in early childhood education. To obtain the results about this question, a theoretical research is carried out. This is followed by a practical part, which consists of the creation of a didactic sequence, an observation grid to see if the objectives of the sequence are achieved and an analysis of different digital storytelling platforms. After the implementation, the results are extracted and contrasted with the theory to draw conclusions about whether storytelling is a methodology that really helps in the learning of English in early childhood education.

L’objectiu principal d’aquesta recerca és estudiar si l’storytelling és una eina útil per aprendre anglès a l’etapa d’educació infantil. Per obtenir els resultats d’aquesta pregunta, es porta a terme una investigació teòrica. A continuació, hi ha una part pràctica. Aquesta consisteix en la creació d’una seqüència didàctica, una graella d’observació per veure si s’assoleixen els objectius de la seqüència i unes anàlisis de diferents plataformes de digital storytelling. Després de posar-ho en pràctica, s’extreuen alguns resultats que estan contrastats amb la teoria per treure conclusions sobre si l’storytelling és una metodologia que realment ajuda en l’aprenentatge de l’anglès a l’educació infantil.
