Abstract

La mastectomia és un procés quirúrgic en el qual s’extirpa parcial o totalment el teixit mamari que es troba afectat per càncer. Existeix la possibilitat d’una reconstrucció mamària posterior a la mastectomia, però són moltes les dones que no es realitzen reconstrucció degut a motius mèdics i/o psicològics justificats. Les pròtesis mamàries externes recuperen l’aparença natural de la dona i proporcionen diversos avantatges tant anatòmicament funcionals com estètics, aportant una millora en la qualitat de vida de les pacients que han patit càncer de mama passant pel procés de la mastectomia. Tanmateix, les pròtesis mamàries externes que actualment es troben en el mercat són models estandarditzats en forma i pes que no s’adapten a les necessitats requerides per cada pacient. La impressió 3D permet la personalització d’aquest tipus de pròtesis de manera que cadascuna s’adapti a les necessitats funcionals i estètiques de cada pacient. Solucionant els problemes que presenten els models comercials actuals. En aquest Treball de Fi de Grau s’aborda tot el procés de desenvolupament d’un prototip de pròtesis externa mamària personalitzat.
