Objetivo: Determinar si la acupuntura combinada con ejercicio físico disminuye los dolores neuropáticos en pacientes con lesión medular.
Metodología: Ensayo clínico aleatorizado en el cual se incluirán participantes con lesión medular nivel C, D, E y entre 18 y 65 años. Se dividirán en dos grupos, un grupo de 38 pacientes que harán 3 sesiones de ejercicios físicos en la semana y un grupo de 39 pacientes que harán 3 sesiones de ejercicios físicos a la semana y 2 sesiones de acupuntura a la semana. La intervención tiene una duración de 8 semanas de tratamiento y se harán recogidas de datos sobre el dolor (Neuropathic Pain Scale), la calidad de vida (escala SCIDQLRS) y la depresión (escala de Hamilton) antes del tratamiento, al final del tratamiento y un mes después.
Limitaciones del estudio: La limitación principal del tema es la especificidad del estudio debido a la escasez de personas que tienen dolores neuropáticos debido a lesión medular, también el costo del estudio y el miedo a las agujas.

Objective: To determine if acupuncture combined with physical exercise reduces neuropathic pain in patients with spinal cord injury.
Methodology: Randomized clinical trial in which participants with level C, D, E spinal cord injury and are between 18 and 65 years of age. They will be divided into two groups, a group of 38 patients who will do 3 sessions of physical exercises a week and a group of 39 patients who will do 3 sessions of physical exercises a week and 2 sessions of acupuncture a week. The Intervention lasts for 8 weeks of treatment and data will be collected on pain (Neuropathic Pain Scale), quality of life (SCIDQLRS) and depression (Hamilton scale) before treatment, at the end and one month later.
Limitations of the study: The main limitation of the subject is the specificity of the study due to the scarcity of people who have neuropathic pain due to spinal cord injury, also the cost of the study and the fear of needles.
