La voz de algunas inmigrantes cuidadoras de ancianos

Abstract

Primer eslabón y resultados de una investigación más amplia. Corresponde a una exploración inicial del tema, de sumo interés para la autora. Una exploración complementaria de otras como las bibliográficas, las bases de datos u otras fuentes. Se parte de escuchar la voz o la narrativa de seis encuestadas (grupo diana o personas de confianza avaladas por informantes profesionales que han proporcionado sus contactos), por vía telefónica para economizar tiempo y otros recursos (el trabajo de campo se ha realizado en un solo país, Nicaragua, con el fin de conocer in situ aspectos culturales y sociales del mismo, entre otras finalidades docentes) y se sigue un guión semiestructurado para la entrevista. Con ello se obtiene un conocimiento que pretende aproximarse a la realidad del cuidado a ciertos mayores de nuestra sociedad por parte de algunas personas inmigrantes, cuya realidad material y educativa puede diferir o no de la de las cuidadoras autóctonas en el contexto informal'. Pretende, especialmente, aproximarse al aspecto de la educación sanitaria de dichas cuidadoras, tema que será profundizado en otra investigación.
