La mort i el procés de dol en persones amb diversitat funcional

Abstract

La residència Centre Montserrat de Ripoll, treballa amb i per a les persones amb diversitat funcional i salut mental. En aquest servei es detecta una manca de coneixements per part de les professionals a l’hora d’afrontar situacions sobre la mort i el procés de dol. Aquesta recerca pretén investigar i conèixer com es treballa la mort i el procés de dol amb aquest col·lectiu concret. Se centra principalment a conèixer la mirada que tenen els professionals sobre el tema d’investigació. A la vegada que es vol percebre que els hi provoca la pèrdua d’un ésser proper a les persones ateses. Per això, es realitza una aproximació a través d’entrevistes i observacions participants, on es dóna a conèixer la visió de les diferents professionals, com també la de les persones residents, per tal de millorar les actuacions futures i afrontar conjuntament la problemàtica existent.

Centre Montserrat, located in Ripoll, works involving disabled people with mental or physical added difficulties. It exists a lack of knowledge, regarding the employees, when it comes to skills and resources to treat properly the well-known and complex topics of death and mourning process. The aim of this research is to go deep and investigate how the death and the mourning process are introduced to this group of conditioned individuals. Specifically, how the carers and professionals in charge of them, manage to face the challenge of making their users understand such situations. What’s more, the behavior and personal response of each individual are also take into account to understand not only the carers’ roll but also the affected’s perception. Because of the nature of this investigation, interviews have been used as one of the main tools to get a wide range of information. Such method has been implemented looking for the professionals’ different points of view as well as the users’ to improve ways to confront (both sides working together) death and mourning process in future.
